Stokley Williams is an American singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist best known as the lead vocalist and drummer of the R&B band Mint Condition. Raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, he developed a strong musical foundation early on, which shaped his distinctive style.
As a founding member of Mint Condition, Stokley helped define the band’s blend of R&B, funk, jazz, and pop, contributing as a lead singer, drummer, songwriter, and producer. The group earned lasting acclaim with hits like “Breakin’ My Heart (Pretty Brown Eyes),” “U Send Me Swingin’,” and “What Kind of Man Would I Be.”
Beyond the band, he has collaborated with artists such as Prince, Janet Jackson, Usher, and Kelly Price, and is known for his versatility across instruments and genres. His solo career highlights his vocal range and musicianship, with projects like Introducing Stokley and Sankofa, which produced multiple Billboard-charting singles, including the No. 1 hit “She.”
