Yes! General admission to the festival grounds is completely free so the whole community can experience the music. However, we offer VIP Passes and preferred seating options for those who want an upgraded JazzFest experience. [Link to Tickets/Music & Schedule]
The festival takes place on September 12 & 13, 2026, right in the heart of the historic Rondo community at the intersection of Selby Avenue & Milton Street in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Absolutely! Blankets and low-profile lawn chairs are welcome in the general admission lawn area. To ensure everyone has a great view, we kindly ask that tall chairs be set up toward the back of the seating areas.
Gates open at 12:00 PM and the music kicks off at 1:00 PM sharp! Saturday’s festivities wrap up at 10:00 PM, and Sunday’s celebrations conclude at 8:00 PM.
Most shifts are roughly 2–3 hours, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the festival before or after your shift.
We’ll take however much time you are able to give us!
To keep the festival green, we do not use paper programs. Our Survey Squad and Ambassadors will be trained to help guests scan QR codes for the digital schedule and map.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Younger volunteers (12+) are welcome if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Jazz is for everyone! Selby Avenue JazzFest is a family-friendly event. Be sure to check out the Family Fun Zone, which features interactive youth activities, games, and entertainment specifically curated for our youngest festival-goers.
Outside food, beverages, and coolers are not permitted on the festival grounds. But don’t worry—you won’t go hungry! Our Soul Food Village features an incredible lineup of local vendors serving up delicious soul food twists and fresh options. Sealed, empty water bottles are allowed and can be refilled for free at our hydration stations.
For the safety and comfort of our attendees (and your furry friends), pets are not allowed on the festival grounds. However, trained and leashed service animals are always welcome.
The rhythm doesn’t stop for a little rain! Selby Avenue JazzFest is a rain-or-shine event. In the case of severe or dangerous weather, we will temporarily pause the event and follow city safety protocols. Updates will be announced on stage and via our social media channels.
Jazz is for everyone. Selby Ave JazzFest is committed to providing an inclusive, comfortable, and accessible experience for all our guests.
- Mobility Access: Paved pathways and ADA-compliant access routes are available throughout the festival grounds. An accessible viewing area with a direct sightline to the Main Stage is located.
- Restrooms: Accessible portable restrooms and handwashing stations are conveniently stationed near the Main Stage, the Family Fun Zone, and the Marketplace.
- Seating: Limited ADA seating is provided in the accessible viewing area. All other attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets for general admission lawn seating. Low-profile chairs only, please—be kind to those behind you!
- First Aid & Services: If you need immediate assistance, look for a staff member in an official JazzFest vest.

Most of our food, beverage, and merchandise vendors happily accept credit cards. However, some artisans in the Village Marketplace may prefer cash. ATMs are conveniently located on-site near the Merch Shop and the main entrance.
